What Causes Acne?
Despite what is said, acne is NOT caused by eating nuts, chocolates or drinking soda. Acne is caused by oil glands in the skin that are overactive, as well as dead skin cells, an accumulation of oil and bacteria, which all lead to inflammation in pores. Individuals in their teens are more prone to getting acne due to the fact that during puberty, hormones become active which causes the oil glands to become stimulated. Due to the fact that the development of acne is parshly genetic, an individual with relatives who have had or still have acne, are more likely to develop acne than others.
Here are a few ways that can help stop acne:
- Cleanse and moisturize your face daily. Cleansing products that contain Salicylic acid or Benzoyl Peroxide reduces and gets rid of whiteheads and blackheads and you can tighten your skin by using a moisturizing product that contains Vitamin E.
- Exfoliation removes dead skins cells and dry skin cells so it is recommended that you exfoliate your face once a week.
- Treat yourself and go for a facial. Facials clean the pores deep down and creates a beautiful complexion. An alternative for going for a facial is using a home steam facial system.
- Refrain from touching your face. If your hands are dirty and you touch your face, it can cause more breakouts and picking at your acne can cause scars that could be permanent.
- Make an appointment with a dermatologist and get a recommended acne treatment prescription. See if there is any improvement after using the product for a few months. Remember, acne treatment does not show results immediately, it takes time for the skin to be cleansed and repaired, so give the product a few months to work.
